How to Spend a Fun Day in Delhi? (2 Different Plans)

Some people might not be stoked about spending a day in Delhi checking out historical monuments or wandering through museums and art galleries. If you’re not the conventional tourist type and want more action, you’ll need spots where you can dive into the fun, not just stand back and watch.

Spend a fun day in Delhi by starting at the National Science Centre and then testing your puzzle-solving skills at Mystery Rooms. End your evening laughing at The Laugh Store. Alternatively, kick off your afternoon with F9 Go Karting, engage in energetic laser tag at Lazer Crazer, and conclude with a mix of games and dining at Smaaash.

In this article, I’ve laid out two different plans for you to pick from. Plus, I’ve factored in plenty of travel time between spots, so you won’t be rushing all day. Feel free to mix and match these suggestions. And for more cool stuff to do, take a look at my detailed guide on Unique Things to do in Delhi NCR.

Plan 1: Visiting Some Fun Places

9:30 am to 1:00 pm – National Science Centre

Leave for The National Science Centre from your house at a time so that you could comfortably reach around 9:30 am.

The National Science Centre is one of the biggest science centers in Asia and a total paradise for science buffs. This place is jam-packed with amazing science exhibits and some neat architecture history stuff.

Whether you’re into dinosaurs or human biology, they’ve got you covered. And, let’s not forget their cool Fun Science Library.

They make learning physics a blast with all these interactive things you can get your hands on. Just when you think it can’t get any better, boom!

They throw in fantastic shows like Science on a Sphere, 3-D movies, Holo shows, and a mind-blowing Fantasy ride. Feeling hungry for food after science?

There’s a cafeteria right there with a mix of Indian and continental dishes. Seriously, it’s so fun you could hang out here all day. But, you have other places to cover.

So, eat your lunch at the cafeteria and aim to leave by 1:00 pm.

Cost: It’s ₹70 for entry, ₹35 for a 3D film, ₹40 for the Holoshow, and ₹80 for the Fantasy Ride. Oh, and little ones under 3 ft get in free, but the shows will cost the usual.

Timings: Open from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm every day except Holi and Diwali.

Nearest Metro Station: Supreme Court (Blue Line)

2:00 pm to 5:30 pm – Mystery Rooms & Surrounding Areas

Ever played those “Escape the Room” games online? Well, Mystery Rooms is that, but for real! You and up to 8 friends, get locked in a room with just 60 minutes to break free. No friends? You can play alone too.

The place is a maze of tunnels and clues, with a ticking clock that amps up the excitement. You get to pick your adventure – horror, action, murder mystery… it’s like starring in your own suspense or action flick!

They’ve got puzzles for everyone, whether you’re looking for something light or super challenging. Great for a fun day with family or friends, and even cool for team-building at work.

Trust me, it’s a real treat, especially if you love cracking puzzles. In Delhi, you’ll find Mystery Rooms at Rajouri Garden, Connaught Place, Mansarovar Garden, and Tagore Garden.

I suggest that you stick to the C.P., Rajouri Garden, or Tagore Garden outlets since they’re all on blue line and for the next item on our itinerary, you’ll need to travel further.

When you’re done with Mystery Rooms, there are plenty of places near the outlet where you can chill for a while and maybe have some snacks. Leave latest by 5:30 pm.

You can head over to their website to book your spot and check out any other details: Mystery Rooms Delhi

Cost: It’s ₹1100 per person on weekdays and ₹1200 on weekends and public holidays for 2 people, and the more the merrier (and cheaper per person)!

Timings: They’re open from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm every day, so you’ve got loads of time to give it a go.

Nearest Metro Stations: Rajouri Garden (Intersection of Blue and Pink Lines), Rajiv Chowk (Intersection of Yellow and Blue Lines), Mayapuri (Pink Line) or Rajouri Garden, Subhash Nagar or Tagore Garden (Both on Blue Line)

7:30 pm to 11:30 pm – Stand-up Comedy and Other Activities

Aim to reach Dwarka Sector 14 by 7:00 pm irrespective of which Mystery Room outlet you chose. Now, want to ‘lol’ non-stop in real life ? Make your way to The Laugh Store at Vegas Mall.

It’s a hotspot for comedy shows, hosting big-name comics as well as upcomers. The setup is spot-on for a hilarious evening – think comfy seating, groovy mood lighting, and a vibe that screams ‘let’s have fun’.

The crew here is super friendly, and the shows run like clockwork. Here’s a hot tip: try to catch a gig by a popular stand-up comedian.

These shows are usually packed, and you’re in for a laugh riot. After the show ends, you’ll have The Vegas Mall at your disposal to keep you entertained till you decide to leave.

You can grab dinner over here if you had not already eaten while the show was going on, visit the Kid’s Zone for some games, or maybe even watch a movie.

For a sneak peek at what’s coming and to grab your tickets, hit up: Book My Show

Cost: Between ₹300 and ₹1000. It varies, depending on the comic who’s performing.

Timings: Usually open from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm, mostly on weekends.

Nearest Metro Station: Dwarka Sector 14 (Blue Line)

Plan 2: A Day of Sporty Activities

1:00 pm to 2:00 pm – F9 Go Karting

If you’ve got too many friends, you can make new rivals on the go-kart track!

Head to F9-Go-Karting and join a bunch of strangers (or your friends) for some adrenaline rush. Since 2010, this has been the spot for go-kart lovers.

The track is safe, slick, and just right for racing those nifty little karts. Ever dreamed of being in a Formula 1 race? Go-karting here is the next best thing.

It’s fast, it’s fun, and you won’t have to worry about those scary high-speed risks. Picture this: you’re on a top-class track, overtaking kart after kart, lap after lap. That’s the thrill of go-karting!

They’ve got it all – from fuel-efficient karts to the latest safety gear. Even though this place is in Gurugram, it’s fairly easy to reach whether you’re using the metro or driving to the spot.

Since the durations of the packages are relatively short, you should get free by 2:00 pm and head to the next place on our list. Also, make sure you eat well before you leave home since we’ll be skipping lunch.

Cost: Starts at ₹762.7 plus 18% GST for a 13-minute ride.

Timings: Open from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm, every day.

Timings: Sector 55–56 (Rapid Metro)

3:00 pm to 5:00 pm – Laser Tag & Exploring HKV

After zooming around at F9 Go Karting until 2:00 pm, we can hit up Hauz Khas Village (HKV) by 3:00 pm, traffic and metro willing.

Why 3:00 pm? That’s when Lazer Crazer reserves the next two hours for private bookings till 5:00 pm.

Aim to catch the 3:00 pm slot, but if we miss it, no worries. Hauz Khas Village is buzzing with cool spots to chill until the next round of laser tag.

Laser tag at Lazer Crazer? It’s a 40-45 minute blast. Think of it like a high-tech game of tag with infrared light guns and targets.

Safe, clean, and no mess – no pellets or paintballs here, just safe beams that don’t hurt a bit. It’s strategic, loads of fun, and feels like a real-life battlefield. Lazer Crazer is Delhi’s biggest and best laser tag arena.

Packed with over 30 game formats, various intensity levels, and a vividly lit RGB LED arena, it’s an electrifying experience. If we make it to the 3:00 pm game, awesome!

We’ll have time to explore more of HKV until 5:00 pm. If we’re booked for 5:00 pm, we’ll wrap up by 6:00 pm and move on to our next adventure.

Cost: Starts at ₹199 for solo rounds on weekdays. Unlimited lives for 1 map and format costs ₹350 on weekdays and ₹400 on weekends. Higher prices for unlimited lives and more maps and formats.

Timings: 11:00 am to 9:30 pm

Nearest Metro Stations: Hauz Khas (Yellow Line), IIT (Magenta Line)

7:00 pm to 11:00 pm – Game on at Smaaash

You should be able to comfortably reach our next spot by 7:00 pm. Spend the remainder of your day at Smaaash, which is the ultimate hangout spot for endless fun.

Imagine stepping into a world of crazy VR games where you’re transported to another dimension, or getting your game on with ultra-realistic simulators and nostalgic video games.

They’ve got it all – from knocking down pins in bowling to practicing your batting skills in their cricket net with a real bowling machine.

If that’s not enough, gear up for some bumper car action, shake a leg on the dance floor, try your hand at air hockey, arm wrestling, or even show off your sharpshooting skills at the shooting range.

And when the games have left you hungry, there’s a snug little restaurant waiting to serve you some delicious food.

Cost: Starts from ₹1200

Timings: From 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, every single day.

Nearest Metro Station: Rajouri Garden (Intersection of Blue and Pink Lines)
