What Can I Buy in Sadar Bazar Delhi? (Your Shopping Guide)

Whether you are a resident of Delhi or visiting Delhi for your business, Sadar Bazar can feel like a maze. I’ll help you understand Sadar and the products you can purchase from this wholesale market.

In Sadar Bazar, Delhi, you can buy utensils, pooja (prayer) items, artificial jewellery, cosmetics, footwear, party decorations, umbrellas, party gowns, lehengas, plastic items, and hair accessories at wholesale rates. Beware of pickpockets and shady agents in the market.

Sadar Bazar is the right destination when starting a retail business or being thrifty about personal purchases. The trick to shopping from Sadar at reasonable prices is buying them from designated lanes. Always check the quality, especially when purchasing cosmetics.

Things to Buy from Sadar Bazar in Delhi

1. Visit Deputy Ganj for Utensils of All Kinds

The Deputy Ganj Market is located opposite the main Sadar Bazar, but it is part of the same. Utensils of all shapes and sizes and varying materials are available here.

A sign board written in Hindi, pointing to the lane, helps you enter the correct one among the tiny lanes in Sadar Bazar. The lane entrance has a few utensil shops.

As you keep walking ahead, you will encounter a narrow lane. It is the primary market of Deputy Ganj. Shop for stainless steel utensils here.

Starting prices are as low as ₹20/- for items like plates, spoons, glasses, etc. The prices usually vary based on the size and quality of the product. You can also buy utensils used during worship at home.

Further, brass idols of Hindu gods are available here. If you are starting a catering business, large utensils can be purchased and are priced per kilogram.

2. Buy Artificial Jewellery of Latest Styles

Once done with Deputy Ganj market, you can visit Rui Mandi (Cotton Market), the first lane you will encounter when entering the main Sadar Bazar. Don’t let the name fool you – no cotton here.

It is genuinely a shopping paradise for women. It is a market, especially for artificial jewellery. Cosmetics are also available. The market mainly houses wholesalers who also have products at a retail price.

The flea market outside the stores caters to retail customers. They sell hair accessories, cosmetics, jewellery, and similar items.

If you are starting your own imitation jewellery business, Rui Mandi is a place to visit.

You should be patient enough to search the plethora of stores and their products for the ones best suited for your business. It is also a must-visit for hairstylists and make-up artists.

Plenty of hair accessories, cosmetics, and other paraphernalia used for the same are everywhere your eyes can see. It’s also a fantastic spot to pick up jewellery for weddings, whether you’re the bride or a guest.

And as I’ve already established, everything here is a steal, making your special day even more affordable!

However, a crucial tip to remember when navigating Sadar Bazar, especially if you’re a business owner, is to be wary of agents promising to guide you to the best shops.

Always trust your own judgement and visit the various shops in Sadar Bazar independently. Don’t let these agents lead you astray.

3. Gali Number 11 for Everything Packaging

If you want packaging for your business, Gyaarah Number Gali (Lane Number 11) is your answer. It also has some shops that sell artificial flowers.

Green Market – The Sunday Specialty

Gali Number 11’s speciality is the Green Market, held every Sunday. It is famous for its reasonably priced ladies’ dress pieces and lace. You can get designer pieces in a flea market setup.

The price goes up as the quality gets better. You can find all kinds of party wear: gowns, lehengas, suit materials, and many other clothing pieces. The prices usually range from ₹1000-₹5000/-.

The more elaborate pieces are the expensive ones. It gets very crowded, especially during festivals. Plan your visits accordingly, and do not forget to bargain.

This applies not just to the Sunday market but to the entire market in general.

4. Shop for Footwear and Everything Sports

Once you exit Gali Number 11, the next lane you encounter is the Chappal (Footwear) Wali Gali.

As the name suggests, this lane is a shopping heaven for people looking to buy reasonably priced footwear at retail prices or those who wish to start a footwear business.

The entire lane is dotted with shops that specialise in footwear. You can get a wide variety of quality footwear. Some shops also sell stationery items.

Chappal Wali Gali ends in Pan Mandi, which has shops selling sporting goods. This part of Sadar Bazar also sells seasonal items; for example, during the monsoon, umbrellas are sold by the plenty.

However, sporting goods remain the main products.

5. Press Wali Gali and Matke Wali Gali for Cosmetics

When you leave the Chappal Wali Gali, you will encounter the Press Wali Gali. You can also reach here through the Pan Mandi. Ahead of this gali is another one popularly known as the Matke Wali Gali.

Both lanes have several cosmetic shops. You will also find small items like hair clips, hair claws, and more.

You may remember that Rui Mandi also has shops catering to cosmetics; however, these two lanes are dedicated to cosmetics.

These are fantastic places to shop, whether you’re planning to start a beauty parlour or just looking for items for personal use.

The market is teeming with several cosmetic brands from wholesalers, offering a wide range of options. You might even stumble upon some lesser-known brands.

However, beware that the market also has counterfeit products. Before making a purchase, always conduct thorough quality checks.

This is especially important when it comes to cosmetics. Don’t overlook this step – you must get the real deal. Make sure to educate yourself on how to spot genuine cosmetic products.

6. Purchase Party Decorations and Crockery Items From Sadar

Near the end of the main Sadar Bazar is a narrow lane if you take a left turn from the Matke (Earthen pot) Wali Gali, known as the Gubare (Balloon) Wali Gali.

As the name suggests, it is the lane where you can buy decoration items for parties, like balloons, banners, confetti, and other items. You can purchase the products in bulk or at a retail price.

The Gubare Wali Gali leads you to the crockery market, and as the name suggests, this is where you can buy all kinds of crockery items.

You can also purchase plastic items, like water bottles, containers, and other similar items.

7. Right Place to Purchase Toys for Children

Sadar Bazar starts from the Barah Tuti Chowk. As you traverse through the various lanes and bylanes selling multiple products, you will reach Qutub Chowk.

If you travel on the Qutub Road from this Chowk, you hit the Teliwada Chowk. This is the area where there are multitudes of toy shops.

If you are new parents or planning to start a business catering to children, this is the right place to visit. Later, it merges with the Rui Mandi.

We have gathered that Sadar Bazar has lanes catering to specific products, even though you might find shops selling various products throughout the market.

Try to buy your products from the said lane. You are more likely to encounter a genuine wholesaler.
